GD1 & MGD1002 Do-Now

Today's CLO

Today I will either write, speak or demonstrate my knowledge of design,

so that I can create a Photoshop poster or book cover design.

 

I know I have it when I have created a design that uses design principles (hierarchy, flow & typography), masking or clipping paths, selection tools and I have applied new skills to design a creative and unique design.

Monday 10/6 & Tuesday 10/7

Project Feedback & Notes
  1. Provide feedback about the pen tool exercises and Fear project. 

  2. Review your End of Project feedback and grade in Schoology.

  3. Open your Fear Creative Brief. 

 

Friday 10/3

Project Reflection & Notes​
  1. Create a new folder in your Final and title it Choice Design.

  2. Create a new Google Doc in that folder and title it “Book and Poster Notes”.​

  3. Go to Schoology and to your Fear folder. Complete the end of project reflection once we go over the directions together. This is for a grade so take your time and check your grammar.

Wednesday 10/1 & Thursday 10/2

Critique Feedback & October Count Survey

1. Review the feedback Mr. Wiant gave on your critique doc in Schoology.​

2. Go to Schoology to complete the October Count Survey.

Monday 9/29 & Tuesday 9/30

Prep for Critique
  1. Go to Schoology and open the Fear Poster Folder. Open the critique assignment from there. 

  2. We will go over Step 1 together.

  3. Open your designs and prepare for the critique.

 

Thursday 9/25 & Friday 9/26

Project Requirements 

1. Go to Schoology and complete the October Count Survey.

2. It is required that you are using the pen tool in your project and either layer masks or clipping masks. Answer where you are using those on the printout Mr. Wiant hands out and be prepared to discuss with Mr. Wiant.

  1. Open your Creative Brief for the About Me assignment.

  1. Take time to complete a feedback survey so Mr. Wiant can continue to improve the class and assignments to better support you. 

  2. Download and open the Pen Tool Tutorial File in Photoshop.

1. Open your Google Drive and go to your Final folder. 

2. Check that your About Me folder is correctly saved there. 

3. Check that your creative brief is correctly saved there.

  3. Open the folder and check that you have made a Misc. and Final folder inside there

Setting Up Google Drive
  1. Log into your school Google account (DPS email and birthday for the password)

  2. Go to your Google Drive

  3. Create a new folder titled- Period1_lastName_FirstName or Period6_lastName_FirstName

  4. Share the folder by searching for Steve Wiant or steve_wiant@dpsk12.net

  5. Create two subfolders: Misc., Final
